Applications for Dry Blending

Dry Blending

Using Blentech's single shaft agitator mixer for dry blending

Single Shaft Agitator System:

Single shaft mixers are appropriate for easily mixed free flowing products such as low viscosity liquids and granular solids.  Examples include dry and soupy products like sugar mixes, some chemicals, powders, spices, flour mixes; and solids in lower viscosity fluids such as pie fillings, soups and stews, etc.
Batch single shaft mixers are usually charged by pump, conveyer or by hand from above, run for an appropriate time and emptied by opening the discharge door.  The outer portions of the agitators sweep product to the discharge end.

Single Shaft Restrictions:  Horizontal mixers must not only blend products to a desirable uniformity, but must also convey the product for discharge.  A single agitator mixer relies on gravity and the friction between the product and trough to keep product from ‘cylindering’ or ‘rolling’ - sticking to the agitator - which results in insufficient mixing and poor conveyance to the discharge.
