Horizontal agitation is a highly effective means of blending a wide assortment of products; from dry powders to the most viscous of meat emulsions. Horizontal mixers blend products in multiple dimensions; lifting and folding the batch while stirring it about the vessel trough.

Single Agitator Mixer
A single agitator mixer is suitable for mixing dry powders, free-flowing particulates and liquid blending. It is normally outfitted with a ribbon or double ribbon agitator. Typical applications include spices, dry soup mixes, diced vegetables, thin sauces, yogurt, pie fillings, fruit and vegetable concentrates.

Twin Agitator Mixer
Twin agitator mixers are applicable where, due to mixing characteristics of the product, increased blending and shear action is required. Viscous, tacky products tend to cylinder or travel with a single agitator. Twin agitators create turbulence in the batch disrupting the cylindering effect. Increased shear promotes protein extraction that is beneficial outcome when blending meat products. Typical applications include ground meat formulations and sausage emulsions, cheese and cheese spreads, dough mixes, pasty fillings, concentrated soups and viscous sauces.

Intermeshing Agitator Mixer
Intermeshing agitator mixers impart a very aggressive shearing force on stiff products that do not mix readily. They also enhance protein extraction in the case of ground meats. Applications include rehydrating potato flakes, blending wetted flour formulations, sausage and deli meat emulsions.

Rotary Mixer
